Eight hours sleep to stay slim

Getting eight hours sleep a night is the key to staying slim, scientists have claimed. New research has showed that people who slept for less than six hours a night, or more than nine, put on more weight than those who managed seven or eight hours every night.
Scientists found that people who didn't sleep for long enough gained nearly 4.4lbs (2kg) compared to those who slept for the suggested number of hours.
Those who slept for too long found their weight increase by 3.4lb (1.58kg) more than those who had the recommended number of hours over a six year period.
People who were asleep for less time were 27% more likely to become obese.
Scientists explained the results saying the amount of sleep a person has affects their hormone levels - especially hormones which control appetite and feeling full after a meal.
Lead researcher, Jean-Philippe Chaput said: 'Our study provides evidence that both short and long sleeping times predict an increased risk of future body weight and fat gain in adults.'
He added: 'Since preventing obesity is important, a pragmatic approach adding sleep hygiene advice to encouragement towards a healthy diet and physical activity may help manage the obesity epidemic.'
Both UK and American sleep experts explained that one way of getting a good night's sleep is by going to bed and getting up at the same time every day – even at weekends. Having a relaxing routine prior to your bedtime, like taking a bath or reading, is also beneficial.

BLOG OR NOT
I registered 2 blog accounts last summer. This one and one at sina.com. However, I never started using either one, because I don't think there would be any (possible) audience understands me. I feel that I'm too weird to be in either culture. Sina.com is open to all those Chinese people, majorly the mainlanders. Their mind is a bit conservative. However, I decided to create a blog with 2 languages, so many bloggers on blogspot probably won't get my Chinese writings. Yesterday, I found my ultimate salvation, Yahoo HK. Yes, I love Hong Kong for its bi-culture. Mixed with Chinese and Western perfectly. So I started writing my own crap there. For the time being, I'm too obsessed with who I like. In this case, I suggest you not to read it because I don't want you to throw up, that makes me lose face. But if you insist, I shall post a link. At least, I think the music I have there is good.
